With 55.8% of the vote, Planning Commission member Geoff Frahm surged ahead of newcomer Craig Martinbeault in the race for Loveland City Council’s Ward 1 seat, according to the Larimer County Clerk’s Office. After the second round of results was released around 8:45 p.m., Frahm had 2,659 votes to Martinbeault’s 2,102.

“My opponent ran a great campaign,” Frahm said at a gathering with supporters at the Forge Events Center. “Everything both of us did was positive, and I’m so proud of that.”

This was Frahm’s second bid for the council in 2025; he previously fell short by 11 votes to Jen Swanty in March’s special election to fill Troy Krenning’s vacated Ward 1 seat. Assuming Frahm’s lead holds, he will replace mayor-elect Pat McFall as Ward 1 representative.
