LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Interim Jefferson County Sheriff David James has found himself back in law enforcement after more than 30 years of public service.
He was handpicked by Mayor Craig Greenberg, D-Louisville, to take over following the Sept. 24 death of John Aubrey .
It’s a chapter of his life he thought he’d leave behind.
“I had kind of resigned myself that I was out of the law enforcement business," he said. "I had to talk to my family and my wife and see what they thought about it. And so here I am."
James said that while he's not planning to seek the job permanently, improving quality of life for Louisvillians is a must.
