MSNBC pundit Michael Steele cautioned Democrats against reveling in their significant Election Day gains, warning that Republicans might have a “Plan B” to unveil.

The GOP on Tuesday suffered major setbacks across the country, losing the gubernatorial race in New Jersey, the mayoral race in New York City , and every statewide election in Virginia .

“If Republicans want to keep blindly following Donald Trump into the abyss of chaos, let them,” Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said in a statement. “The rest of America is moving forward.”

Steele, however, believes Trump and the GOP will find a way to rain on the Democrats’ parade in the 2026 midterm elections.
