CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Two schools based in the Lowcountry will be recognized on Wednesday as ‘Blue Ribbon’ schools.
According to the South Carolina Department of Education, the National Blue Ribbon Schools designation honors schools for their academic excellence and closing achievement gaps.
Governor Henry McMaster and State Superintendent of Education Ellen Weaver will honor Charleston County School of the Arts, Cross High School, and four other public and private schools for receiving the recognition.
A ceremony honoring these schools will be held at the South Carolina Statehouse.
Congratulations to Charleston County School of the Arts and Cross High School.
