Vanderbilt University is officially expanding to New York City, with its new satellite campus set to welcome its first students in fall 2026.

The final approval came on Nov. 4, when the New York Board of Regents unanimously endorsed the university’s application for academic programming, according to a university news release.

"We are grateful to the New York Board of Regents and the New York State Education Department for their approval and deeply appreciate the support of elected officials and other partners who share our vision for what Vanderbilt can add to New York City,” Vanderbilt Chancellor Daniel Diermeier said in the news release.
