While most Louisianans will spend a little time in the grocery store each week, that number exponentially increases this time of year.

During the Thanksgiving season, it's all about the food, so those trips to the market will be more frequent and likely for a lot longer periods of time.

And it just so happens that Thanksgiving rolls around each year when we're loaded down with germs; from the regular cough and colds, to allergies and likely the occasional encounter with flu or COVID.

And if the COVID pandemic taught us anything, we gained a valuable lesson in the importance of avoiding germs that our bodies haven't yet had the chance to develop a resistance.
