HOUSTON — New concerns over flight safety are being raised after two separate bomb threats in 24 hours — one involving a United Airlines flight from Houston and another at LaGuardia Airport in New York.
The United flight, identified as Flight 512, departed from George Bush Intercontinental Airport on Tuesday morning and landed safely around 10:30 a.m. at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
Officials say the plane was evacuated after landing when a bomb threat was reported. Emergency crews surrounded the aircraft on the tarmac as staircase trucks arrived to help passengers deplane. Passengers were then bused to the terminal while law enforcement conducted a full search of the jet. Nothing suspicious was found, and the flight was cleared by federal officials.
