A Warwickshire fraudster who went on the run after scamming people out of more than £100,000 has been arrested. Kristien Hunt was apprehended on Monday (November 3).

Hunt, 47, had been working with 39-year-old Steven Fidler. Over a two-year period between November 2019 and December 2021, 11 people from across the Midlands came forward, stating they had trusted Fidler and Hunt to carry out building or decorating jobs.

Victims had made substantial payments for jobs, which were either not completed or finished to an unsatisfactory standard. When they complained, Fidler and Hunt disappeared.

Police discovered that Hunt and Fidler had taken on multiple projects. But when it came to completing the jobs, they offered a string of excuses, even falsely claiming that a family member had died.
