Peterborough City Council leader Dr Shabina Qayyum has written a letter to the county's police and crime commissioner following an attack which saw multiple people stabbed in Huntingdon at the weekend.
Passengers travelling from Doncaster to London were attacked on a train on Saturday, November 4, which resulted in many people needing hospital treatment.
Anthony Williams, 32, from Peterborough was subsequently charged with 11 counts of attempted murder, one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and two counts of possession of a bladed article.
Police have since confirmed that they have linked Williams with a further three knife related offences in Peterborough.
