RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – Every driver license office across the state is back online after temporarily being unable to process transactions due to an outage, the N.C. Department of Transportation said in a social media post on Wednesday.

State officials said the outage was affecting the National Driver Register, which is a federal database that retrieves driver information from other states.

NCDOT posted on X (formerly Twitter) about the outage at 10:25 a.m. Wednesday. It was resolved just over 30 minutes later.

The outage was impacting verification of that data, state officials said.

It's unknown at this time what exactly caused the outage.
