The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles (SCDMV) will change its website address in 2026 to provide additional assurance to customers that they are dealing with the legitimate state website.

On Jan. 5, 2026, the SCDMV will change its website address to dmv.sc.gov , with agency emails changing to the same domain, so they will appear with addresses ending in “@dmv.sc.gov.”

For at least the year 2026, the current address, scdmvonline.com , will redirect customers to the new site, and agency emails sent to former email addresses (@scdmv.net) will be forwarded automatically.
