The Loyola Avenue on-ramp to U.S. 90 Business heading west is closed indefinitely.
A spokesperson for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development said a fire broke out late Saturday night into early Sunday morning at a homeless encampment, causing serious damage. Advertisement
DOTD officials told WDSU there is significant damage to the concrete deck, steel supports and paint.
Crews are expected to conduct an encampment sweep, though no timeline has been given.
