CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Panthers safety Tre’von Moehrig was named the NFC defensive player of the week on Wednesday.
Moehrig was critical in the team’s upset win over the Green Bay Packers last Sunday, finishing with an interception, five tackles (two for loss), and two passes defended.
“I’ve always been confident in myself, and not try to put a leg on my abilities, but it was a team effort, man,” Moehrig bragged of the defense around him. “I mean, I caught the ball, but all 11 affect the play. So, big shout out to the guys.”
The veteran was signed as a free agent this offseason and became the first Panther to win the award since linebacker Frankie Luvu in Week 8 of the 2023 season.
