Lyft has landed a new airline partner.

The rideshare company and United Airlines announced their new partnership in a joint news release on Wednesday, Nov. 5. Travelers can now earn miles in United's MileagePlus program every time they book a ride through Lyft.

The new agreement allows Lyft riders across the US to link their MileagePlus account in the app and earn rewards on eligible trips.

"This collaboration brings our brand purpose of 'serve and connect' to life in a powerful way," said Lyft chief marketing officer Brian Irving. "A large amount of our riders use Lyft for trips to the airport, so we're giving riders more value from rides they're already taking while making their entire travel journey more seamless."

Riders can earn these MileagePlus rewards for each dollar spent on Lyft:

  • Four miles - Pre-scheduled airport rides
  • Three miles - Lyft Black, Black SUV, Extra Comfort, non-scheduled airport trips
  • Two miles - Standard, Priority Pickup, and XL rides booked with a business profile
  • One mile - All other Standard, Priority Pickup, and XL rides

New users who sign up for Lyft and connect their MileagePlus account can also earn a 1,000-mile bonus after completing two rides within 30 days.

"This collaboration is the first step toward creating a truly seamless travel experience for our members — from the moment they leave home to when they arrive at their destination," said United MileagePlus CEO Richard Nunn. "By integrating Lyft into the MileagePlus ecosystem, we're giving travelers more ways to earn rewards today and building toward a future where every part of the journey is connected, efficient, and rewarding, enriching the traveler journey."

The partnership comes after Delta Air Lines ended its similar arrangement with Lyft in April. Delta travelers can now earn SkyMiles rewards through Uber.

In early 2026, MileagePlus members will be able to redeem miles for Lyft rides, along with receiving flight alerts and ride reminders for United flights.
