As soon as it opened on Sept. 19, Nana’s Kitchen and Pizzeria in Auburn was a hit on social media, quickly attracting followers and gushing reviews.
It grabbed my attention, so after giving the owners a month to work out any new-restaurant jitters, Dad and I headed over early on a recent weeknight.
We encountered a few surprises right at the start. First, Nana’s is located on the first floor of a building in an industrial park. As we approached, I thought, “Who is going to find this place?”
Everyone, apparently, because the place was full. It’s a good sign when a seemingly out-of-the-way spot has a big crowd during the week. I can imagine that the place draws a number of people from the businesses nearby. Smart.
