Prosecutors in the double-murder trial of an Ossipee man Friday painted a picture of an abusive relationship between the man and his pregnant girlfriend.
William Kelly, 39, was indicted in March 2024 on two counts of second-degree murder for allegedly beating to death his girlfriend, Christine Falzone, 33, and her unborn child at their home at 332 Water Village Road in December 2023.
The case is the first in the state in which a defendant is accused of murdering a fetus.
His lawyers say that Kelly is innocent, and that he did not kill Falzone, but rather that she died as a result of her personal problems, like clumsiness. The prosecution says he killed mother and daughter brutally.
“She had her life beaten out of her by this man right here,” Senior Assistant Attorney General Peter Hinc
