BRISTOL, Tenn. (WJHL) — One person was airlifted to a burn center after a house fire on Ash Street in Bristol, Tennessee on Wednesday.
A spokesperson for the City of Bristol, Tennessee told News Channel 11 that dispatch received a Life Alert notification and 911 call reporting a structure fire just before 11:30 a.m.
"The victim had exited their home with their clothing still engulfed in flame and ran to a neighboring unit for help," the spokesperson said in an email to News Channel 11. "The neighbor quickly assisted by advising the victim to stop, drop, and roll, which extinguished the flames on their clothes."
The fire was quickly brought under control, and all damage was confined to the original unit where the fire started, the spokesperson stated.
