WINSTON-SALEM — Juke Harris (Salisbury) had 18 points and seven rebounds as Wake Forest opened the basketball season with an 88-74 win against American University on Monday.

Harris, a 6-foot-7 guard who broke records in high school, played 29 minutes. He had one assist, one block and one steal.

The sophomore played in 31 games and averaged 6.1 points as a freshman, but he’ll be counted on for a lot more this season.
