EUGENE, Ore. - The Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative is stepping up to tackle rising food insecurity in the state.
The cooperative, which operates the BottleDrop network, has activated its emergency fund, donating $30,000 to 12 nonprofits across Oregon. In a show of community support, BottleDrop is matching up to $35,000 in donations made through its accounts or through bottle and can donations until November 30.
"We have seen an incredible outpouring of donations and support from the community including a really generous donation from the Oregon Beverage Recycling Collective that is doing matching gifts for FOOD for Lane County," said Carolyn Stein, executive director of FOOD for Lane County.
The donations will support organizations like FOOD for Lane County, Josephine County Food
