CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Former North Mecklenburg High School basketball star and current Duke Blue Devil, Isaiah Evans, was brilliant in their season-opening win against Texas on Tuesday night.

Evans was the leading scorer in the Blue Devils’ 75-60 win over Texas on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at the Spectrum Center.

The Charlotte native was the leading scorer with 23 points while shooting 50% from behind the arc.

The former North Mecklenburg High School star is expected to see an increased role after all of last season’s starting five left for the NBA.

In Duke’s two preseason games against UCF and Tennessee, Evans scored 14 against Central Florida and 22 against Tennessee.
