CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Two men are being accused of fighting a Food Lion employee over allegedly stealing $21 worth of groceries, court records say.

On Oct. 20, Charlotte-Mecklenburg officers from the Providence Division responded to a common law robbery call at the Food Lion on Park Road.

Once on scene, officers learned that two individuals, Andre Davis, 20, and Darnell Davis, 29, allegedly attempted to steal items from the store. According to an affidavit, while at self-checkout, a store employee approached them, accusing the pair of not scanning all the items.

A verbal argument occurred, which led to the suspects and the employee getting into a physical fight. After the assault, both suspects gathered their groceries and left the store without paying.
