ATLANTA — A man is dead after a fatal accident involving a cement truck, according to the Atlanta Police Department.
Officers responded to the scene at 2251 Marietta Boulevard NW around 7:13 a.m. on Wednesday morning after receiving calls about a traffic accident. When they arrived, they found a cement truck turned over in an embankment.
Local fire officials and Grady Hospital personnel found a male inside the truck. He was extradited and taken to Grady, where he was later pronounced dead.
The victim has not been identified.
According to police, early investigations show the truck was traveling northbound on Marietta Blvd. when the driver suddenly veered off the roadway. It struck an electric pole, went over the divider, and landed on its side in an embankment.
