CHICAGO, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV)— As Illinois kicks off its open enrollment campaign, Illinoisians face a nearly 78% increase this year in monthly premiums, with even higher increases coming for southern Illinois.

According to a news release from the state, Get Covered Illinois has kicked off its Here to Help open enrollment campaign. Open enrollment began at the beginning of November and is set to run through January 15. State officials said nearly 466,000 Illinoisans purchased health coverage through Get Covered Illinois during open enrollment last year, which was a 17% increase from 2023.
