A Slidell woman indicted on charges of deadly hit-and-run involving a 6-year-old has entered a plea.

Connie Estes, 40, of Slidell, pleaded not guilty on Wednesday on charges of hit-and-run driving resulting in death and obstruction of justice. Advertisement

She is accused of hitting and killing 6-year-old Jeremiah Ramirez on Aug. 13 in Slidell.

Estes was arrested on Aug. 29 for the deadly crash.

Her pretrial hearing is scheduled for Jan. 6, 2026, and her trial is set for Jan. 26, 2026.
