The Killeen Police Department announced on its Facebook page that several people were taken into custody and multiple guns seized after its Violent Crime Action Team surveilled a residence at the 1700 block of Shoemaker Drive on Tuesday.

Two of the three individuals arrested — whose names were not released by KPD — had previously been arrested by VCAT.

The unit was attempting to apprehend a wanted suspect, KPD said.

“When officers attempted a traffic stop, one occupant decided to test his cardio and ran. During his brief workout, he dropped two handguns, one of which turned out to be stolen. All occupants were safely taken into custody, and multiple firearms were seized,” the social media post read.
