SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. — A single-vehicle rollover crash on state Route 2 near Everett has left two people in serious condition and closed the westbound lanes temporarily Wednesday afternoon.
The vehicle was traveling eastbound on SR 2 when it failed to navigate the roadway and went from the east trestle to the bottom trestle, creating two separate crash scenes, according to Washington State Patrol (WSP). The incident occurred on the overpass to the trestle around 12:01 p.m.
When firefighters arrived, they found the overturned vehicle engulfed in flames and worked to extinguish the fire. Both occupants suffered critical injuries and were transported to the hospital.
Multiple agencies including WSP, Everett Fire Department, Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue and local police responded.
