WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - The man accused of murdering a two-year-old in Watertown last December appeared in Jefferson County Court on Wednesday.

Thomas Rose, 36, faces a second-degree murder charge for the beating death of Aurora Wiles.

It’s the first time Rose has appeared in court since the child’s mother, 24-year-old Sarah Waterman, pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide and endangering the welfare of a child.

During the hearing, the prosecution brought several law enforcement officials to the stand and admitted evidence, including body camera footage and search warrants.

It looks like this will go to trial in the spring.
