FORT MOHAVE, AZ (AZFamily) — Rescuers helped save a man who was stranded for days in rural wilderness near the Arizona-Nevada border earlier this week.
According to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue team, a 60-year-old man called for help just before 6 p.m. Sunday evening. The man told authorities that he ran out of water and had been stuck for several days in the Black Mountains, east of Fort Mohave.
Search and rescue teams scoured the rugged mountain wilderness, searching for the lost driver and his Ford truck. Rescuers eventually located the man, gave him water and brought him back to a command post.
A photo shared on the department’s Facebook page shows the Ford trucks’ tires stuck in gravel and rocks.
