OSCEOLA COUNTY, MI — A Northern Michigan will spend between 17 and 32 years in prison after shooting at police officers during a high-speed chase this summer.
Darrin Rasheed Martin, 28, of Marion, was originally charged with 25 felonies stemming from the July 10 incident.
After reaching a plea deal with prosecutors, he pleaded no contest on Oct. 24, to:
Two counts of assault with intent to murder;
One count of discharging a weapon from a motor vehicle;
One count of third-degree fleeing and eluding a police officer; and
Two counts of felony firearm.
He was sentenced on Wednesday, Nov. 5, in 49th Circuit Court in Osceola County.
