FORT VALLEY, Ga. — Special Agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives showed up at Randy Tyrone Fuller's door in Fort Valley with a message: You can't buy a gun as a convicted felon.
In the months earlier, they say Fuller had tried to buy a firearm five times, which were all rejected. After the purchase attempts were flagged and shared with ATF, they showed up at his door.
Then, just two days later, they say Fuller tried to buy guns two more times.
Seven attempts, court records show, resulted in seven denials.
That's because Fuller had been convicted twice on felonies, which under federal law means that he is prohibited from possessing a firearm.
Fuller was charged last Monday on charges related to his attempted gun purchases.
