FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KTFA) — The City of Fayetteville will now have a food commission after the city council unanimously approved the item.

The commission will serve as an advisory body to Mayor Molly Rawn and the city council and provide insight and suggestions to the council to help fight food insecurity in the community.

According to the ordinance, examples of programs the food commission could help with could be implementing community programs, such as of common gardens in the community and educating the public about nutrition in an attempt to fight food-related diseases.
