MAGA architect Steve Bannon has issued a stark warning to conservatives after democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani won the New York City mayoral election.

“Tonight should be a wake up call to the populist nationalist movement under President Trump,” he told Politico Magazine in an interview conducted just after midnight on Wednesday. “These are very serious people, and they need to be addressed seriously.”

Bannon, a top supporter of President Donald Trump, said that while many Republicans see Mamdani as a political gift, he doesn’t view things that way.

He said that Mamdani’s victory is proof of the staying power of populist politics, and is a harbinger of growing anti-establishment forces on the left that the GOP ignores at its own peril.
