AYDEN, N.C. (WITN) - To honor those serving far from home this holiday season, Support Our Troops is kicking off its annual Christmas care package program.
Volunteers spent the day in Ayden putting together care packages as uncertainty surrounds the government shutdown.
To get into the holiday spirit, volunteers are packing up hundreds of care packages to ship off to service members around the world.
It’s the 21st year of the state’s Support Our Troops’ Christmas Care Packages for Troops program, giving some the chance to give back to those making the ultimate sacrifice.
