SEATTLE — Several progressive candidates gained ground in Seattle’s general election Wednesday, signaling what observers say is a shift to the left in city politics.
Results show a stronger progressive presence on the Seattle City Council and potentially in the mayor’s office. Proposition 2, focused on changes to the city’s business and occupation tax, also reflected an appetite for new approaches to economic policy across the region.
