TEWKSBURY, Mass. (WPRI) — The Duxbury woman accused of strangling her three kids to death before attempting to take her own life two years ago is requesting a change of venue for her upcoming trial.

Kevin Reddington, Clancy's attorney, filed a motion in Plymouth Superior Court Monday asking to move the trial to Suffolk Superior Court in Boston.

"The allegations on the charges are violent and intriguing and they certainly have been portrayed in a fashion in the media so as to guarantee extensive, exploitive prejudicial publicity,” Reddington explained. "In this case it is impossible for [Clancy] to receive a fair trial in Plymouth County."

Reddington added that the media has shown "no responsible concern" for Clancy's constitutional guarantee of a fair trial."
