In her closing comments at last month’s Nashua Public Library forum for candidates in three city wards, Vengerflutta Smith, who was seeking the Ward 6 seat held at the time by Chris Thibodeau, repeated her name and added, “your new Ward 6 alderman.”
As it turned out, Smith, a 30-year educator, will indeed be Ward 6’s new alderman, having defeated Thibodeau, who was seeking his second term on the board.
Thibodeau was the lone incumbent ousted in Tuesday’s municipal election, which featured some fairly tight races up and down the ballot, including Smith’s 22-vote margin of victory over Thibodeau.
