Santa Fe Mayor-elect Michael Garcia performed well throughout the city in Tuesday's election — receiving 34% to 39% of votes in each district, the largest share for any of the eight mayoral candidates in the first round of tallying.
Support for runners-up Ron Trujillo and Oscar Rodríguez varied, with Rodríguez placing second in Districts 1 and 2 and Trujillo, a former city councilor who lives in the south-side District 4, coming in second there as well as in District 3, according to preliminary results from the New Mexico Secretary of State's Office.
All three candidates outperformed several better-funded contenders who saw underwhelming outcomes.
