A frost advisory was released by the National Weather Service on Thursday at 1:10 a.m. valid for Friday between midnight and 7 a.m. for Westchester and Suffolk counties.

The weather service states to anticipate, "Temperatures as low as 32 degrees will result in frost formation."

"Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Frost could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation. Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered," explains the weather service. "Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Secure outdoor objects. Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold."
