OSSINING – The Village of Ossining will be upgrading its police desk and communications area at the Birdsall-Fagan Police and Court Facility with $200,000 provided by the State Senate.
Ther funding comes from the state’s CREST (Community Resiliency, Economic Sustainability and Technology program).
“This vital funding for our new police communications room and the replacement of the police and courthouse roof strengthens the safety, resilience, and functionality of our municipal services,” said Mayor Rika Levin.
The new roof project will include solar panels. Police Chief Aaron Zimmerman said the new roof “will keep our staff and equipment warm and dry while also creating cost savings.”
Senator Peter Harckham secured the funding for both projects.
