CATSKILL – A 36-year-old Catskill woman was sentenced to 20 years to life in prison for stabbing a man in the neck killing him.
Following a lengthy trial in Greene County Court, the jury returned a verdict of Carrie Weiser’s guilt in the murder of Scott Myers who she stabbed to death in November 2021.
District Attorney Joseph Stanzione said Weiser has “serious, serious mental health issues which she has exhibited through her criminal acts, and showed interest in mental health treatment.”
Myers was not the first person Weiser is alleged to have stabbed in the neck. In April 2020, another man went to Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson after being stabbed in the neck. He nearly died by was saved by staff at the hospital.
