Shorewood high school’s girls varsity soccer team put on a stirring performance last Tuesday night in blustery, cold conditions at the 3A District 1 playoff semi-final match of the league postseason soccer tournament. They had a scare against a tough Monroe team in the quarter-final match, but prevailed the hard way, via penalty shootout.
In the semi-final, they faced #7 seed Oak Harbor at Shoreline Stadium, anticipating another titanic struggle. In the District Final last year, the Wildcats decisively beat the Stormrays, so redemption might be at play as motivation.
