TOWN OF MASSENA, New York (WWNY) - A new Town Supervisor has been elected for the town of Massena.
Democratic candidate Raymond Lancto took just over half of the vote, beating the incumbent, Republican Sue Bellor.
Lancto has been a town board member for two years and retired from Alcoa.
In the new role, he hopes to find ways to reduce the amount owed from a multi-million-dollar pension debt the town racked up while owning the hospital.
“I’m very grateful for the support I’ve gotten from Massena. And I intend to return the favor,” said Raymond Lancto.
The results are still unofficial right now.
Lancto would take over in January.
