QUINCY (WGEM) - At the last Quincy Strategic Task Force on Housing meeting, community marketing was the main emphasis.

With the Quincy Strategic Task Force working into its fourth month, marketing has begun to be a main point of emphasis for solving the housing problem.

“We’re trying to put things into perspective and put it into a puzzle piece approach and not a shotgun approach,” Task Force Co-Chairman Paul Havermale explained.

In March, a proposed apartment complex on Columbus Road was denied by the Quincy City Council. In 2022, a proposed multi-family project on Kochs Lane was also denied.

“People purchase their property with it being a certain way, with certain things near it, and that’s what they want to keep it there,” Havermale said.
