SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — The Shreveport Police Department does more than solve crime. They work endless hours to be servants of the community, no matter the issue. Corporal Chris Bordelon says law enforcement wears many hats.
"Many of the calls that we respond to are traffic accidents or other things of that nature. They're not actually investigating a crime. You know we may be dealing with someone that's having a mental health crisis or other types of incidents that don't require law enforcement action. They actually just require problem-solving. So the job of our police officers is very complex," says Bordelon.
Pounding the pavement has always been a part of law enforcement, but after the downtown brawls on Halloween, some have expressed concerns over policing tactics.
