A toddler was left 'screaming' in fear and pain after yobs launched a firework at her pushchair as her family headed to a Bonfire Night celebration.

Three-year-old Nevaeh Porter-Baggott narrowly avoided serious injuries in the mindless attack, which happened as a group of youths wreaked havoc across North Shields' Meadow Well estate in North Tyneside last night (November 5).

Frightening scenes unfolded as the masked gang hurled fireworks and lit fires near residential homes.

For Nevaeh's relatives, what was meant to be an enjoyable evening turned into a nightmare when they became embroiled in the chaos and a firework exploded beneath the toddler's buggy.
