Police have explained why locals may have spotted a police helicopter in the skies above Nuneaton and Bedworth. Earlier this afternoon (November 6), locals across the borough heard and saw the helicopter.

Local Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) police officers have taken to social media to explain that it was 'not just a scenic flight', adding it was to catch two males on a stolen bike. Members of the Warwickshire Police's Operational Patrol Unit (OPU) joined the local officers and the helicopter in the chase.

It led to the pair being brought to a stop by the use of 'police stingers' and they fled into woodland in Bedworth. But the helicopter spotted the duo and they were caught and arrested.
