In his first meeting as president of the Fairbanks North Star Borough School Board Bobby Burgess laid out a list of goals for his tenure.
At the Tuesday meeting Burgess expressed his excitement to serve with the board members of “diverse backgrounds and perspectives” to continue the work of the district and amplify its successes.
“It has been great and humbling to hear the congratulations and compliments from community members, from board members,” Burgess said “I intend to lead this team with humility and thoughtfulness and I ask for help from the board members in both holding me and the rest of the board accountable.”
Burgess was elected to the board in 2023 and his term ends in 2026.
