Local artist Tom Nixon presents his annual solo oil painting show titled “A Year In My Life With Brush In Hand.” The opening reception is First Friday, Nov. 7 from 5-8 p.m. at the Fairbanks Community Museum, upstairs in the Co-Op Building on the mezzanine. The show will hang for the month of November. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
“Learning to tell a story with a brush is ongoing, almost never ending,” Tom Nixon said. “What I have discovered this year is that I can paint. I can tell a story. And I like the outcome of my efforts when I paint.
Nixon works as a seasonal landscape painting teacher.
“As such, many of my ideas for paintings come from things that I am teaching my students at the moment,” he said.
