The New Jersey Reparations Council launched on Juneteenth its long-awaited report, "For Such a Time as This: The Nowness of Reparations for Black People in New Jersey.

The report, put together over two years, lists about 100 policy recommendations for reparative redress carried out by the state in nine categories.

Over the next year, the Council will be holding in-person and virtual discussions across the state about the report, which outlines reparations for Black people impacted by the legacy of slavery in the Garden State. The kickoff event is Nov. 7 from 6 to 8 p.m.
