WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – This winter, the expectations are high in Warren surrounding Harding’s girls’ basketball team.
A large group of seniors and juniors return to a team that won 15-games, a year ago, and came within 6-points of Twinsburg from advancing to the Sweet 16 of Division 2.
Seniors Trinity Taylor (11.5 ppg), Cayden Reed (4.5 ppg), Jaleah Provitt (7.9 ppg, 7 rpg) and post player Akeelha Barnes (10.4 ppg, 9.4 rpg) will be joined by juniors Simone Pitts (4 ppg), Azarriah Phillips (5.5 ppg, 6 rpg in 2023-24), Storm Jordan and Cailyn Turner.
“This group expects to exceed last year’s [performance],” says coach Frank Caputo. “We’re returning four starters from last season and a guard (Phillips) that started as a freshman but did not play [as a sophomore] due to travel softball.”
